Artist Notes:
Because of the nature of the beat it would be obvious that epic “Dragon Ball Z” battles would be my inspiration! 'Fight or flight' is defined as the body's primitive, instinctive, involuntary response triggered by the urgency to survive. This piece was designed to project feelings of willpower and force. My goal was to create abstractions which evoke visuals within your own creative mind. The piece has visuals similar in style to a Rorschach inkblot test. I wanted the viewer to feel the strong emotions attached to that heightened feeling when you’re met with that crucial decision, fight or flight, endure or escape. These are the moments that define you. I consider myself very lucky to be able to share my vibrant creativity with you. Big thanks to Izzy and Danny for putting me onto this project, Much love, love, love!

Song Notes:
“VEGETA! WHAT DOES THE SCOUTER SAY ABOUT HIS POWER LEVEL?” “… IT’s OVER NINE…THOOOOUUUUSAAAAAANDDD!”
If you are Asian, Male, lived throughout the Nineties, into Anime, into big haired big muscled doods, into cartoon violence, if you remember Toonami, watched bootleg DBZ videos from Chinatown, all or some of the above, then this song is for you. Dragonball Z was huge in my childhood, as would be huge in many childhoods. Now, with an older mentality and music making prowess at my fingertips, a DBZ homage track was inevitable. This first started in July 2011 as a joke, where D Hype and I would make a song after the character Krillin, and would rap in his silly American version voice. Krillin, to give those unawares, is one of the few human fighters in the cast of aliens in DBZ. With most of the characters as high powered aliens and races, Krillin was really the only human who really stuck it throughout the series, dying multiple times, but always going headstrong into danger. As funny as it was, his character represents that spirit of courage, undying devotion to friendship, loyalty, and always going super hard. After a couple iterations to the beat, Hype and I decided that the beat was too good to make just a mere joke track. We enlisted Jimmy, an avid DBZ fan as well, towards the cause and the three of us had multiple writing and flow sessions over conference calls; all for the love of the work from Akira Toriyama. I sampled “Cell’s Theme” by Bruce Falconer, the composer for the American version of DBZ, as this song’s simple melody was open to emotional content. Writing was easy, piecing it all together was tricky. In the end, especially with authentic DBZ sounds to bring out the flows, this track is dropping Spirit Bombs all over your area.
lyrics
(Izzy)
I am Galactus
Spitting in planet flow
Let me cut right to the chase, Special beam cannon
Less Bruce Banner and more like Bruce Wayne
No need to get revenge on those that shot my parents
We hold living when losing it is apparent
And in this wasteland we be another jungle barren
You are just another Cell to me, guaranteed
There ain’t enough in this galaxy
For me to feed on
We on
Another level we revel in adversity
You could be more dangerous
But you aint even hurting me
You need more hyperbolic time
So take it slow.
It aint about the things you did
But more of what you know
Training is just a swan song you sing
Ability is nothing, and will is everything.
Rip the ligament, in pain, ignore it
This bozo is asking for it
Breaking bone is boring
Bleeding out is more euphoric
(D Hype)
Blood flow icy, Cooler with more Freon, my glow neon
G force enforce peons
Never in a Eon
Flux/ force for change
Could you imitate or restrain our reign
(Jimmytheloch)
In a strange way my mainframe
Is lame brain with orangutan strength
Ya better vacate but don’t fall off of snake way
Read the chosen prayers
I lead from over there
I breathe the open air
And get hit with solar flares
I cover more ground than a par 4
Leave your head spinning like breakers on cardboard
Your soft shell would never protect, we hard core
Taking over concrete tracks, we parkour
How you gonna be a hard headed featherweight?
Tri-beam attack we make your body levitate
We killing it with the Krillin flow,
Bout to set it straight
Malice and jealousy, they demonstrate
Let them hate
(D Hype)
Damn, Garlic Jr.’s on the track and he just opened the dead zone
No signal, no sign of living
I’m on my lone
Wolf fang fist and I’m pissed
Black out like Mr. Popo, charge into the mist
If you caught the gist of what I’m saying
Then you ought to be praying
I ought to be spraying horribly on you want to be Saiyans
I’m raining down on your parade like the air raid
Accurate, on point
Verbal slice and cut like blades
Set the forest all ablaze,
Nah, that ain’t a phazer, that’s an ass whooping in laser form
Storm, Lightning quick, Destructo Disc
The flick got to come from the wrist
I risk it all/ fire, Bic
One last flame before the fall it’s a dire hit
Surpassing my potential I reached the burst limit
Wish me back after disaster has been written/ridden
(Jimmytheloch)
I land punches yeah I fool with a timecard
Put your CEO in a Fujiwa arm bar
Rock and hammer carve art
You're raised in barnyard
A stable is your armoire
You're swag is Paul Blart
(Izzy)
You’re just a mall cop
A small stop on this trip to the top
And for every drip of your blood we drop
Berserker barrage,
Find your body in the garage
Under a broken mirror
Holding hands with your mirage
I cover more ground than a par 4
Leave your head spinning like breakers on cardboard
Your soft shell would never protect, we hard core
Taking over concrete tracks, we parkour
How you gonna be a hard headed featherweight?
Tri-beam attack we make your body levitate
We killing it with the Krillin flow,
Bout to set it straight
Malice and jealousy, they demonstrate
Let them hate
(Jimmytheloch)
I used to be Vicks 44 but hold the Dimetapp
You're itching to prove yourself nope that’s a violent rash
Don’t buy that crap ya'll are a fake act like spinal tap
And that picture could be your last it's your final flash
On to the next I’m above your trash talking
Professor x hover to my handicap parking
You cry over spilt milk so I splash cartons
Then close the windows and turn on the gas in your apartment
Peace and quiet when I eat or I won't dine there
And keep your kid quiet or I’ll smack them out the high chair
You’re always dropping the ball I’ll call you time square
It’s hard to think bright with my oversized eye wear
Brain cells depleted I don't mind danger
At least I’m naturally selected to evolve by nature
Feeling stuck in life high chaotic fly paper
And time flies we're in the hyperbolic time chamber
(Izzy)
Time for me to end the poser era, better know me then
When you Ginyu Force gang up, I’m a Kao-Ken
Better suited to recruit the Cobra Kai, we joust
Sweep the head and smash it into the side of a house
(D Hype)
Our lyricism it spirals viral, highly contagious,
Cataclysm conditioned, Armageddon lit pages,
Better not to enrage us
Last dragon
Shenron flow we go off like a tangent
I cover more ground than a par 4
Leave your head spinning like breakers on cardboard
Your soft shell would never protect, we hard core
Taking over concrete tracks, we parkour
How you gonna be a hard headed featherweight?
Tri-beam attack we make your body levitate
We killing it with the Krillin flow,
Bout to set it straight
Malice and jealousy, they demonstrate
Let them hate
